One of my favorite parts of Portland, OR is definitely the abundance of food trucks! So much good food to be had for cheap.
I absolutely agree. As a former Portland resident, it’s one of the things I find most lacking in San Francisco. A lot of people here seem afraid of food safety with carts, but they’re held to the same safety standards as restaurants. The variety and creativity they offer is incredible. I have yet to find a Mexican place in San Francisco that can compare to Tito’s Burritos, which is one of those carts in Portland. You also get interesting single-purpose carts, like Nong’s Khao Man Gai, which only serves one dish, but does it incredibly well - something you could never get away with in a restaurant.
